AUGUSTA, Ga. - Sara Geist-Sirk, 36, wife of Stephen Sirk, of Commons Drive, Evans, entered into rest Saturday, August 11 2007 at University Hospital. Memorial services will be held from the Mosaic United Methodist Church this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Carolyn Moore officiating. Interment will be in Massachusetts at a later date. She had formerly lived in both Maine and Massachusetts before making Evans her home for the last two and a half years. She was a proud graduate of Westfield State in Westfield, Mass. with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology as well as graduating with a Masters Degree in Family Studies from Michigan State University. She had received the Gold Award from the Girl Scouts and was a 2006 recipient of the Girl Scout's twenty year pin. She was the adult development/property manager for the Girl Scouts, Central Savannah River Council. Mrs. Geist-Sirk was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Geist, in 2006. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ian Sirk; her father, Joseph Geist; and her paternal grandmother, Myrtle Geist. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Girl Scouts, Central Savannah River Council, 1325 Greene Street, Augusta, Ga. 30901.
