Although it isn't likely, Augusta first baseman Brett Pill might challenge the doubles record. He entered Monday with a league-high 40 doubles in 117 games and is on pace for 47.
The record is 55, set by former major-leaguer Scott Seabol of Greensboro in 1999.

This year's squad was 2 games better before Monday, but the 2006 team won 18 of its last 23 games.
WHO'S HOT: Shortstop Emmanuel Burriss entered Monday on an 8-for-18 streak (.444), raising his average to .321, fifth-highest in the SAL.
He has 41 stolen bases in 73 games, which is fourth-best in the league.
TRANSACTIONS: OF Tyler Graham has been placed on the disabled list. ... Relief pitcher Osiris Matos, a highly regarded reliever who pitched for Augusta last season, has re-joined the team. He went 5-0 with four saves and a 2.89 ERA for Double-A Connecticut.
