The high of 95 degrees recorded at Bush Field will probably begin a week of less extreme temperatures and possible thunderstorms, said Bruce Cherry, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in West Columbia, S.C.
Augusta's seven-day streak tied similar streaks in July 1990 and July 1930, Mr. Cherry said.
Sunday's temperatures remained moderate because of a storm front that produced cloudy skies.
Look for a slight chance of thundershowers on Monday, with temperatures in the upper 90s, maybe reaching 100, the rest of the week.
