AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Friday, August 10, 2007, Mr. Allen L. "Al" Meshey, Sr., 72, beloved husband of Mrs. Betty O. Meshey, of 1909 Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC. Surviving with his wife are their two sons, Allen Meshey, Jr. and his wife Jean, Aiken, SC and Ronald V. Meshey, Philadelphia, PA; three brothers, Ted Meshey, Coatesville, PA, Errol Meshey and Joel Meshey, both of Phoenixville, PA; two sisters, Edwina Hopper, South Haven, Kansas and Karen Hamel, Schwenksville, PA; three grandchildren, Michael Allen Meshey, Emily Anne Meshey and Nathaniel Ivor Meshey, all of Aiken, SC. Al was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward Franklin and Ella Allen Meshey. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He retired from Westinghouse with 23 years of service. Al was a member of Talatha Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Joy Group at Shiloh Baptist Church, the Happy Go Lucky Camping Group and the Senior Group at Grace Brethren Church. Funeral service will be Monday morning at 11 o'clock at Talatha Baptist Church with Revs. David Lester, David Little and Donald J. Soule officiating. Mr. Meshey will be placed in the church Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Claude Key, Kenneth Martin, Jesse Moyer, Steve Willingham, John Porter, Steve Eubanks, Larry Keith and Ben Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Owens, Buddy Murray, George Rentz, Hunter Rentz, the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Camping Groups. Friends may call at the residence or on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. No. 1, Langley, SC.
