An Augusta youth baseball team is just one win away from advancing to the Junior League World Series.

The Masters City Little League team of 13- and 14-year-old players defeated Team Florida on Tuesday to advance to today's championship game in Cartersville, Ga.

The Masters City squad, representing Georgia in the tournament, won 9-8 with a run in the final inning.

Erin Hawk and Chileno Baldez reached base on singles, and Michael Weaver dropped a bunt. Hawk was able to score from second on the play when the throw to first was mishandled.

Masters City opened the tournament with a loss to the South Carolina team, 15-8, but will get a chance for revenge when the two meet today for the championship.

In its second game of the tournament, Masters City defeated Tennessee 13-2 as Hawk threw a two-hit complete game. He will be on the mound for today's title game.

The winner of today's game advances to Taylor, Mich., for the 10-team championship tournament that features teams from around the world.
