Vote for the top singer-songwriter

    For the sixth year running, Augusta's vibrant music community has answered, chorus and verse, The Chronicle's call for submissions to our Singer-Songwriter Contest. The next step is up to you.

    Vote - once - for your favorite, using the ballot below. Duplicate votes will be discarded. The polls will be open through 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31.

    In addition to the three contestants with the most votes, three critics' picks will be sent on to the finals. The finalists will be announced in the Sept. 13 edition of Applause, and the finals will take place Friday, Sept. 14, at the Arts in the Heart of Augusta festival. Below are the contestants.

    im really impressed by Rian

    im really impressed by Rian Adkinsons style . The song is really cerebral , not like anything i've heard around here before.I Also think The Edison Project has huge potental too . Those 2 acts definitly need to play a show togeather !

    I just saw Rian Adkinson play

    I just saw Rian Adkinson play at the mission the other night and was blown away. i had never heard him or seen him before and i have to say i was not disappointed. Augusta has needed a breath of fresh air for a long time and i think he is it, a cool voice,very different,great use of melody . i used to be a fan of will mcranies but his songs got old,they seemed to have no stucture,but he's still a great musician.Edison Project,bright guys, i wish them the best of luck.     Drew Davis' "Lovelight" is such a sweet song. You can hear the emotion in his voice as he performs. I absolutley LOVE this song!

    Wade, your song about our AMERICAN HEROES is great!!!
    It is so appropriate now with our troops fighting to defend our country. These are brave soldiers who have left their families and loved ones for each one of us (safe at home). They are truely American Heroes. God Bless! Thanks for your support through this song.

    Rian Adkinson's Atlas Hands

    Rian Adkinson's Atlas Hands is hands down the best song on the ballot. His voice is clear and resounding....beautiful. The most origional talent I've heard come out of this area! Good Luck to him and I'll be sure to catch him at his next show. Rian Adkinson is the definiton of musician! This song is more than a hit.

    I have to say that this whole songwriter thing is a brilliant idea, kudos to mr uhles, im a musician myself and i think its a great chance to hear new talent . I just wanted to leave a comment about songwriter Rian Adkinson, i heard his music for the first time on THE RADAR, a show on 95 rock that is devoted to up and coming bands and musicians throughout the US . they played his song RADIO SILENCE , and i had to pull the car over and pay attention . this guy is gooood. i went to his site downloaded all his songs , i am a mega fan now.

    Eryn Eubanks a BRILLIANT AND CLASSY musician songwriter.In my estimation she is TALENTED far beyond any other competition. I am in awe of ERYN's ability to reach into the very sole of the listner and to express with her music their innermost thoughts , feelings and passions. If you stop and listen to Eryn's music you may hear the voice of God speaking to YOU. What an awsome experience!
