NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Richard T. Powell, 55, husband of Miriam Linnenkohl Powell, of Pisgah Rd., entered into rest Monday, July 16, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Mr. Phil Clark officiating. The family will receive friends at Rowland Funeral Home Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Powell was a native of La Jolla, Calif. and had lived in North Augusta for the past twenty-two years. He dedicated 35 years of his life to Emergency Services and took pride in serving the people of Aiken County. He was very active in community service and served on many boards. He was a past board member of the Sheppard Blood Center and a member of the Aiken Sunrise Rotary. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Pat H. Powell and Lois Grantham Powell; and a brother, Robert Powell. Additional survivors include a daughter, Eloy Powell Van De Weghe and her husband Dave, of Augusta; mother-in-law, Juanita Linnenkohl; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and David Maxwell, all of North Augusta; 2 nephews, Robbie Powell and Pat Powell and their families, of Augusta.
