Richmond County investigators are seeking 18-year-old Darion Antonio McNair, who is charged with murder and possession of a firearm in the shooting death of Stedmund Fryer, also 18, according to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Officials at the sheriff's office said 150 to 200 people were on the dance floor at Club Super C's Lounge on Tobacco Road at 2:20 a.m. when Mr. Fryer was shot.

The two men were involved in an altercation just before the shooting, according to the release.

In the hours after the Mr. Fryer's slaying, shots were fired at an apartment belonging to Mr. McNair's sister in what investigators are calling a "cycle of violence.". An adult relative was in the apartment in the 800 block of Spruce Street at the time, but neither the sister nor her three children were there.

23-year-old Jordash Tanksley, is wanted for questioning in the case and is known to associate with Mr. McNair. No charges have been filed against him.

Both Mr. McNair and Mr. Tanksley have a long list of felony charges against them.

Mr. Tanksley served a two-year prison sentence in 2004 in connection with a felony theft conviction. He also has outstanding felony aggravated assault and weapons charges, the release said.

Mr. McNair was indicted in October on 19 counts, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and criminal damage to property in the first and second degree in connection with a July 2006 drive-by shooting at a Bahama Drive apartment complex. At the time, police said it was related to the gangs Sunset and O-Dub.

Police said Monday's incident does not appear to be gang-related and sheriff's Sgt. Richard Roundtree would not comment on any current affiliation between the suspects and gangs, instead referring to the department news release.

Both men should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous," the release said. Anyone with information on either of them can call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.

Reach Adam Folk at (706) 823-3339 or adam.folk@augustachronicle.com.

TO JCM22: You are truly full

TO JCM22: You are truly full of pigeon crap!! I read the R&R pretty much everyday and never comment, but I was reading the comments from yesterday and when Mr. Fryer's mother called you out on calling her son trash-you clearly right under her comment and stated that you were not calling her son "trash". But yet, here you are again today...having diarrhea of the mouth AGAIN...stating that you are calling them trash. Man up and say what you mean and mean what you say. If you feel that he is trash then stick to it..if not watch the garbage that is coming out of your mouth!

I have read all of these

I have read all of these comments, even written a few myself. We have all walked around one important thing. Wether these folks had good parents, bad parents, one or both parents. Children want to grow up before it's time, and in most cases when actual adults try to help them, they think we are idiots. Kids are hard headed and will find ways of doing what they want to. They want attention but not from us boring parents, they want it from friends, fellow classmates, and other kids in general. But when this kind of thing happens, it is too late. Just like the young girl that was killed a few years ago and found in McCormick County. She had caring parents, but decided to sneek out. She ended up strangeled and her head blown off with a pipe bomb. She can't right her wrongs and neither can these boys.

time for my 5 minutes of

time for my 5 minutes of fame!!. our communities have failed, our local government has failed our so call law enforcement-court system is inept and worst of all the family breakdown in this case is REAL! These young THUGS!! (THEY STOPPED BEING CALLED RESPONSIBLE MEN WHEN THIS MURDER AND VARIOUS OTHER CRIMES WERE COMMITTED BY BOTH!)have yet again stained the black community and further added fuel to the stereotype of the BLACK MALE in general. They don't care or respect each other or their own children that they continue to father, but don't support, they value Bling Bling,Grillz, and 24's and 26's over good grades and a solid education ending up with a real job with lifetime benefits. Black folk wake up! take those flea market imitation wannabe stuntin shades off and take control of what's going on around you! Used ta be the klan now it's anotha brotha man! That's beating and molesting your children, raping your mothers, daughters, sisters and just plain makin your life here hell on earth!! Don't blame the white guy. he didn't put that kid that died on the dancefloor on a slab at the morgue blame that (fool!!) brother who did it and who now is on the run like an animal!!.

worriedaboutdafuture, you

worriedaboutdafuture, you should change your handle: yours is too similar to waof, who tends to make sense and avoid overtly racist posts. making a sweeping generalization about all black males is silly and irresponsible.

worriedboutdafutre your

worriedboutdafutre your making stereoptypes worst yourself. How come a black male when you tell us were nothing but thugs so we go to college & become productive & we still cant buy a chain because we care about bling bling. But a white male can buy a 500,000 dollar car, 1 million dollar bracelet, 2 million on a diamond necklace, his wife a million dollar wedding ring, a 10,000 dollar suit, or hundreds of dollars on a cigar & nobody says anything. But black men have to care only about bling bling because we brought a chain or put rims on cars. Last time i check white men have just as many cars with rims as black men. I guess white ppl & all races to need to wake up it doesnt matter the race, the person who raps you is always the step dad, or boyfriend, or uncle , or pastor, or the next door neighboor.

I don't have a 500,000 dollar

I don't have a 500,000 dollar car, 1 million dollar bracelet, 2 million on a diamond necklace, his wife a million dollar wedding ring. I would not want it either. I would not have rims if someone gave them to me. And I am white.

blackisrealite is at it

blackisrealite is at it again! Do you ever proofread what you are saying? Well, Grammar and spelling are not your strong points. If you went to college get at least part of your money back. And folks, if your pastor ever raps you, I hope he is rapping about God!

blackisraelite, there are

blackisraelite, there are certainly examples of crass displays of wealth within all ethnic, race, and religious types. i think it all looks pretty ridiculous. the black thug stereotype seems to be a garish example of the style, though, and as such it receives a great deal of exposure now. acting juvenile (thug) is a novelty for white kids; for some blacks, though, it is a lifestyle. no, i don't think you can judge a book by its cover: dressing up trash still doesn't hide the stink. i know many well-dressed white people who are trying desperately to cover their inadequacies with expensive jewelry, clothes, and cars. my concern is that white people usually see these people for what they are - trash. do blacks extend the same critical eye to other blacks when bling is piled on heaps of garbage (thugs)?

Thousands, and by only one

Thousands, and by only one priest? Please. MAYBE hundreds, more likely dozens, and by many priests-- and protestant ministers as well. I don't really get why you pulled that into the discussion though.

Give up blackisrealite, Your comments are funny in an ignorant way, but your wording and spelling of some words probably gets laughs out of more people than just me. You should have left that stuff alone at that Evans party. worriedaboutourfuture and myself will be glad to continue to try to figure out what you are saying.

I have been reading what

I have been reading what blackisrealite has been saying the last couple of days and some of it is hard for me to read but you can get the gist of what he is saying. He has made a few good points. How about Mary Winkler only getting 200 something days in jail for shotgunning her husband to death with her children still in the house? There wasn't any posted outrage about that. Maybe because it didn't happen in Augusta I suppose.

This has been an interesting

This has been an interesting day reading all the post here.
Rose, I don't care about all that stuff either. God Bless are children and keep them safe, no matter what age they are. Mine are grown, 23 and 30. I feel for the parents of the dead young man. No mom should have to bury her child. That has to be the hardest thing in the world to do.

Mary Winkler got less than a

Mary Winkler got less than a year? I didn't know that. Her husband must have been a very bad dude for her to get off so lightly. (Also, I agree w/ CWWJAKES about BLKISRLI. Some good points to be mined there for the really tenacious.)
