DAVISBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Mabel Kitchens Harrell, age 83, of Davisboro, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 1st at 2:00pm at the Davisboro United Methodist Church with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Rev. Charles Wallace, Rev. Emory Lindsey and Rev. Aaron Deer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Atkinson, Edwin Thompson, Herman Tanner, Scotty McCoy, Mike McCoy, Wayne Norris, Larry Carlson and Olin Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Davisboro United Methodist Women. Mrs. Harrell was a native and life long resident of Washington County the daughter of the late Herman E. Kitchens and the late Mattie Sheppard Kitchens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Davisboro United Methodist church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Harrell was also a former member of the Davisboro Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the widow of the late Vernon Russell Harrell. Survivors are her sons, Robert J. Harrell (Glenda) of Davisboro and Richard W. Harrell of Atlanta, grandson, Russell J. Harrell (Jessica) of Atlanta, great grandchildren Emma Grace Harrell and Will Harrell, brother, Herman E. Kitchens (Dot) of Hephzibah, sisters, Edith Carlson of N. Augusta SC., and Glenice Key of Warrenville, SC., sister-in-laws Mary Kitchens of Salisbury NC., Jeanette Harrell of Davisboro, Betty Harrell of Grovetown and Eunice Fesmire (Frank) of Sandersville. The family will be at Harrell residence 13328 Hwy. 24 East Davisboro, and will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home 1119 Riddleville Rd. Sandersville.
