Get moving on Marion Williams matter

For some time we have heard that Augusta Commissioner Marion Williams owes back taxes. I always thought your property would be sold following a reasonable time period upon refusal to pay. Do we have a double standard here?

Residents of this county need clarification on tax rules that will be enforced. If we are not going to enforce the current rules, new rules need to be adopted.

Now to the hard drive caper. Illegal copies of county information certainly should be treated with urgency. Since the city's computer department is on record stating that no copies have been made available for Williams, this greatly raises the level of the problem. This indicates that county records may be in the hands of individuals outside any security standards that may be in place relative to tracking and personal information.

That our tax money could be paying for a lawyer to advise a key figure to not cooperate, I find very disturbing. Our residents deserve better, and if law enforcement is required, let's get moving.
