BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Curtis Bates of Forest Drive entered into rest Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Island with Rev. Christopher Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Island Community Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m. at 128 Forest Drive, Beech Island. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Mr. Robert Bates and Mrs. Josephine Bates; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn (Gary) Meddows of North Augusta, Ms. Theresa Calhoun of Beech Island and Ms. Monica Bates, Virginia; two brothers, Mr. Gregory Bates of Baltimore, Md. and Mr. Jonathan Bates of Beech Island; grandmother, Mrs. Helen Shephard, Beech Island; grandfather, Mr. Loucious Moote of Philadelphia, Pa.; great-grandmother, Mrs. Mattie A.
