ADRIAN, Ga. - Mr. Donald L. Alfonso, 86 of Adrian, died Monday May 7, 2007. Mr. Alfonso was a native of Kennewick, Washington, and was a son of the late Nick and Lula Graham Alfonso. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Thompson Alfonso. He served in the Air Force during WW II and was a mechanic. He was a member of Kea's United Methodist Church, Emanuel County. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Nicky T. and Debbie Alfonso, Adrian; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Robert T. Brown, Evans; 2 sisters, Dorothy Thompson, Portland, Oregon, Deleva Ulseth, Tacoma, Washington; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, with the Rev. Fred Treaster officiating. Burial will be in Braswell Cemetery, Emanuel County. Pallbearers will be Vince Alfonso, Nathan Rutherford, Kenneth Rutherford, Tim Price, John Stringfield, III, and Scott Thompson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, Patient Benefit Fund, 1101 Fifteenth Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
