COVINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Hazel Barbara Burnley Ducato, formerly of Augusta, entered into rest on Sunday May 6, 2007 in Covington, Georgia. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Benjamin Ducato. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with Reverend Danny Burnley and Reverend Ron Gaynor officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. A native of Powellton, Georgia, Mrs. Ducato was the daughter of the late Charles Irving Burnley and the late Susie Amelia Williams. A graduate from Thomson High School, she spent most of her life in Augusta. She retired from civil service at Fort Gordon. Mrs. Ducato was a former member of the Women's Bowling Association and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Survivors include two sons, Billy P. Jackson of Lake Lanier, Georgia and Joseph P. (Butch) Ducato of Covington, Georgia; two daughters, Susan Wolfe Jackson, Augusta, Georgia and Paula Ducato Kiser of Evans, Georgia; six grandchildren, David Paul Wolfe of Athens, Georgia, Kimberly Susan Tice of North Augusta, South Carolina, Leslie Erin Ducato and Joseph Benjamin (Gail) Ducato, both of Atlanta, Georgia, Tess Marie Kiser and Katie Elizabeth Kiser, both of Evans, Georgia; two great grandchildren, Savannah Tice and Jessica Tice, both of North Augusta, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Howard Burnley, Tommy Burnley, L. Russell Sanders, Sr., Robert Kiser, Frederick Lamb and Lee Webb. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening May 9, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road.
