Audubon meeting

An Augusta-Aiken Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the North Augusta Community Center, 495 Brookside Drive. Tony Mills, of the Savannah River Site Ecology Lab, will have a program on animals for children and adults. Refreshments will be provided. Visit www.augustaaikenaudubon.org.

Coin club meets

Education auction

The Aiken-Augusta Audubon Society Auction for Education will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the North Augusta Community Center, 495 Brookside Drive. Items for the auction include golf packages, vacation trips, art, and birdhouses and feeders. Visit www.augustaaikenaudubon.org.

Touring landscape

There will be a guided tour of the grounds at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site, on Redcliffe Road in Beech Island, at 10 a.m. Saturday. The tour will include a discussion of the landscape and Redcliffe's history. Prior to the tour, the Beech Island Garden Club will hold a plant sale at 9 a.m. Tickets for the landscape tour cost $4 for adults, $3 for ages 6-16 and $2.50 for South Carolina seniors 65 and older. Migration count

The Aiken-Augusta Audubon Society will be counting migratory birds at 7:30 a.m. Saturday as part of the Audubon North American Migration Count. Music in the Park

North Augusta's Music in the Park summer concert series will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, with the North Augusta High School band performing. The free concerts are held at Maude Edenfield Park behind the North Augusta Community Center, 495 Brookside Drive. In the event of rain, the concerts will be held in the community center. Collection day

There will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Crossroads Market Shopping Center on Martintown Road. Hazardous waste being accepted includes used oil, paints, solvents and other potentially hazardous household items. Call (803) 441-4202.

Pistol shooting

The Women's Pistol Shooting Group will meet at Carolina Star Gun and Hunt Club pistol range, 371 Cedar Branch Road, Windsor at 1:30 and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20. The group is open to all women and beginners are encouraged to attend. The cost is $15 and registration is required. Call (803) 641-1742.

Blues festival

The Aiken Blues Festival will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, in the Convocation Center at the University of South Carolina Aiken, 471 University Parkway. Bobby Blue Bland, Sir Charles Jones, J. Volunteers to go

The Aiken Area Council on Aging needs volunteers to deliver meals in the Aiken, Graniteville, Gloverville, North Augusta and Wagener areas. Meals can be picked up between 10:15 and 11:45 a.m. Call (803) 648-5547.
