Harrington wrote this in memory of his grandmother: "The one person who has influenced my life the most is my Grandmother. She is what I believe every human being should be; loving. She has taken care of children through her five children, her eleven grandchildren, and her two great grandchildren for fifty-two years and never once has she asked for anything in return. Every year she invites the family to her house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner that she makes. Every Christmas Eve she gives out numerous gifts that must cost her at least a thousand dollars. I do not know what this family will do after she is gone. She watches after everyone and would do anything anyone asked her to do if she had the ability to do so. Every opportunity I get to thank her I take and every time I get a chance to do something for her I do it. She is my hero and I try to live my life like she does. I love her with all my heart and, like she would do for me, I would do anything for her." Please make donations to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Rd., Suite F-104, Augusta, GA 30904. The Vigil for the Deceased will be tonight, Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends until 9:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. www.thomaspoteet.com
