Bryan led his Dutch Fork teammates into a first-place tie with A.C. Flora in the annual high school golf tournament at Palmetto Golf Club. The 36-hole tournament concludes today.
Strong winds made for a tough scoring day, and Bryan was the only golfer to break par. He leads Sims Tompkins (71) of A.C. Flora by two shots and holds a three-shot advantage over North Augusta's Ben Lown and Eastside's Crawford Reeves.
Bryan won the individual portion of the Joe Wyatt Memorial at Houndslake Country Club last week, but the Silver Foxes did not win the team title.
On Thursday, Dutch Fork counted 75 by Mark Joye and 78 by Chase Liebler in the format that takes the low three out of four scores.
A.C. Flora counted 74 by Brewer Bradshaw and 77 by Thomas Bradshaw in addition to Tompkins' 71.
North Augusta, thanks to Lown's 72, is in striking distance after a score of 229 left the Yellow Jackets in sixth place. South Aiken is alone in seventh, two shots back at 231. The Thoroughbreds were led by Chandler Brazeal's 73.
Aiken, which was led by Hampton Jones' 79, is at 243.
