FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Mary Patrick Crow, age 89, died March 25, 2007 in Village Green Health Care Facility, Fayetteville, N.C. after an extended illness. She was born at home on November 19, 1917 in the Gratis Community of Monroe, Ga. to Dovie Odell Adams Patrick and James Marion Patrick. Mary Patrick married Tinnie Walden Crow on January 29, 1935 in Athens, Ga. and were married for 52 years before his death on July 25, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence, and John Patrick; and sisters, Odell Sims, Jewel Tyson and twin sister, Grace Patrick. Mary graduated from Monroe High School in 1934 where she was an outstanding basketball player and served as captain of her team her senior year. Mary and her husband, Walden, lived in Atlanta, College Park, Monroe and Augusta, Georgia from 1935 until 1963. That year they moved to Jackson, S.C. where she was a member of Matlock Baptist Church and served the community as a school crossing guard for 15 years. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, an avid gardener, and accomplished cook. At the time of her death, she was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church, Gratis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 in Center Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Marion Prather will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour in the church fellowship hall. Grandsons, grandsons-in-law and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mary is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Rosemary Crow Hunter (Billy Winston Hunter), Lilburn, Ga., Priscilla Crow Goodwin (Lewis Rowland Goodwin), Fayetteville, N.C., and Judith Crow Wells (Joe Racy Wells) Lincolnton, Ga.; grandchildren, Glymm Kackson (Karen) of Woodstock, Ga., Kahler Laurie Hunter, Lilburn, Ga., Patrick Winston (Ann) Hunter, Ringgold, Ga., Marshall William (Vicki) Hunter, Atlanta, Ga., Mark Lewis (Jan) Goodwin, Adamstown, Md., Kim Goodwin (Jeff) Morander, Sacramento, Calif., Walden Racy Wells, Eatonton, Ga., Rachel Wells (Jon), Evans, GA; great-grandchildren, James Kenzel (Nikki) Hunter of Lilburn, Ga., Matthew Crow Hunter, Lithonia, Ga., Mary Malcom, Laney Mae and Patrick Winston Hunter, Jr. of Ringgold, Ga., Olivia Rose and Marshall William Hunter, Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Sara Elane and Mary Kate Goodwin, Adamstown, Md., Madelyne Grace Morander, Sacramento, Calif., Jonathan Adams, Aubrey Judy and Sydney Holland Sasser, Evans, Ga.; a sister, Marie Bradley of Monroe, Ga.; nieces and nephews.
