NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Lurena Holmes of Knox Ave., North Augusta, died Friday at University Hospital. She was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church of which Rev. Dr. Sam Davis is Pastor, where she served on the Board of Ushers for over 60 years. She retired from Augusta State University. Survivors include nieces, Mrs. Dirine (Elester) Cooks, North Augusta, Mrs. Ola Mae Tankersley, Harlem; a niece whom she called daughter, Karen (Warren) Voliton, Harlem; nephews, Mr. Floyd (Velma) Dunn, Augusta, Mr. Millard Jenkins; a goddaughter, Gussie Clayton, Augusta; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Beulah Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Southview Cemetery.
