A former director of Augusta Regional Airport is under investigation by Wisconsin authorities for a reported sexual assault on a child.
Kenneth Kraemer, now the deputy director of Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport, was arrested Feb. 23 - but has not been charged - in an allegation involving an assault on a 4-year-old girl, said Assistant Milwaukee District Attorney Paul Tiffin.
The arrest also had involved allegations of physical abuse of a child and possession of child pornography, but those allegations were dropped, said Mr. Tiffin.
The investigation into the remaining allegation could take several weeks to resolve, Mr. Tiffin said by phone Monday.
According to a report published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 44-year-old Mr. Kraemer was arrested Feb. 23 and released Feb. 27 without charges being filed.
Mr. Kraemer had been hired as Augusta Regional Airport's director in 2001.
In August 2003 the Augusta Aviation Commission fired Mr. Kraemer over job-performance issues. He was earning $115,000.
