Our values tipping toward evil

  • Follow Letters

The common American is no better than his leaders.

America is full of immoral sexual relationships. Alcohol and drugs are rampant. Americans become the pawns of devils as they rush out to solve the world's problems. It would be far better for them to humble themselves in prayer than to send armies.

Satan is tightening his grip on America as more and more Americans live lives that glorify Satan. America has endorsed perversion and called it "alternative lifestyles." We exploit the poor and call it "the lottery." We reward laziness and call it "welfare." We kill our unborn and call it "choice." We neglect disciplining our children and call it "building self-esteem." We abuse power and call it "politics." We pollute the land with pornography and call it "freedom of expression."

How many of us are in sympathy with the above? How many believe there will be a Day of Judgment?

Richard W. Martin, Augusta

Mr. Martin, Except for the

Mr. Martin, Except for the word 'America' this letter could have been written at any time in human history in any country in the world. As a race, people have a lot of social maturing to do. A day of reckoning comes for all of us on a regular basis and a day of judgment after our death just isn't much of a deterrent. Restricting the things you mention in your letter is a constant challenge for every community and varies from era to era. Keep fighting the good fight and try not to come across as a nut so people will continue to hear you. You have a lot of support on these issues.

Well Patricia, I agree that

Well Patricia, I agree that Mr. Martin shouldn't try to come off as a nut, as he obviously does here. Mr. Martin, the only reason why America looks like it's in the grips of "Satan" is because America isn't conforming to your narrow, bigoted viewpoint. And guess what? Those "perverted" lifestyles you condemn ARE "alternative lifestyles," regardless if you agree with that term or not. Was there ever some magical day when humanity wasn't worshiping Satan? Oh, perhaps it was 50 years ago, when racism was rampant and men had "real" control over their wives. Were those the glory days?

Mr. Martin, do you believe in

Mr. Martin, do you believe in witches and vampires? There is just as much proof for those as there is Satan.

Snoky, who exactly am I a "nut." Though I'm sure you have plently of logical evidence for my insanity, you have failed to actually present it.

"No chaci25 there are

"No chaci25 there are references to Satan in the Bible beginning with Genesis. "
Which makes the whole Christian mythology just that - a myth. A book not based in fact is called fiction. The bible cannot, and should not, but used to try and prove *anything*, because nothing inside of it can be verified as ever having happened.
