Come on back

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A northern Indiana diocese is using a Lenten season ad campaign to reach out to lapsed Catholics and ask them to consider returning to the church.

The $60,000 reconciliation campaign, "You can always come home," is part of the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. The diocese, which includes 82 parishes, serves more than 158,000 Catholics.

As part of the effort, the diocese set up a toll-free number, (800) 637-2948), where people thinking about returning can talk to priests and others trained to answer their questions in Spanish and English.
