MARTINEZ, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, February 28, 2007, Mrs. Darlene M. McKnight, 65, wife of Ward E. McKnight. Mrs. McKnight was a native of Lancaster, PA but has resided in the Augusta-Martinez area for the past 44 years. She was a homemaker. Mrs. McKnight was a member of Advent Lutheran Church where she was active in Stephens Ministry, the Church Choir, a Bible Study student, Women's Aglow Jail Ministry, a Prayer Intercessor and hosted neighborhood prayer meetings. She was also a member of the Church Council. She was a voting Precinct Poll Manager at Evans Elementary School and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family members in addition to her husband include her daughters and sons-in-law: Robin M. and Billy Jackson of Evans, Mellode M. and Glenn Lines of Evans, Dawn M. Mazur of Evans; grandchildren: Brittany Jackson, Brooke Jackson, Lisa Lines, Ashleigh Lines, Matthew Mazur, Meagan Mazur; mother: Janet M. Raceof Lancaster, PA; sisters: Helen Hinson of Bedford, PA, Doris Nightingale of Vero Beach, FL, Pat Woerner of Lancaster, PA, Dolly Stauffer of Lancaster, PA and brother: Robert Race, Jr. of Lancaster, PA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at Advent Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Lash officiating. Memorials may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 3232 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 and the family will receive friends at the Church from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday.
