TRENTON, S.C. - Mr. Alvin Stevens, Sr., 89, of Edgefield Road entered into rest February 28, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Mr. Stevens, a native of Edgefield County, was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church, Aiken. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Stevens, Augusta; six sons, Alvin (Ann) Stevens, Jr., John (Minnie) Stevens, Ralph Stevens and Patrick Stevens, Trenton, S.C., Billy (Marie) Stevens, Roosevelt, N.Y. and Robert Stevens, North Augusta, S.C.; one sister, Evelyn Butler, Roosevelt, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Patria Brayboy and Lucille Beaubian, Trenton; brothers-in-law, Herbert Bettis, Aiken and Billy Rivers, Charleston, S.C.; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence of his son, Alvin (Ann) Stevens, Jr., 771 Mt. Zion Road, Trenton, S.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G.L. Brightharp officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. G.L.
