AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. George Wallace Bell, age 84, beloved husband of the late Florence Mathis Bell, entered into rest Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Funeral services, which will go in procession to the cemetery, will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating. He was a native of Irwinton, GA and was the son of the late Ferris M. Bell and Oma Stenson Bell. He served in the Army Air Corp during WW II and has lived in the Augusta area since 1952. He retired from E.I. Dupont as a heavy crane operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gracewood and he was a member of American Legion Post, Blythe, Ga. and the VFW # Post 649. Survivors include his son, George Wayne (Mildred) Bell, Augusta; daughter, Florence Bell Cadle, Augusta; granddaughter, Misti (Zack) Franqui, Lenoir City, TN; grandson, Benjamin E. Cadle, Augusta; great-grandchildren, Thomas E. Cadle, Augusta, Zoie Franqui and Makayli Franqui, Lenoir City, TN; sisters, Ellen Dean, Centerville, GA and Rose Couey, Lady Lake FL. Mr. Bell is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ed Cadle. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Ga. 30904. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 3, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel.
