FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Major Jeffrey A. Stewart, age 42, of Fredericksburg, VA entered into rest Thursday, January 25, 2007 while on assignment in Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Lyndel Stewart, a son Sean and a daughter, Audra; his father CSM. Robert Stewart and stepmother, Patricia Stewart of Aiken, S.C.; two brothers, David Stewart and Kevin Stewart of Augusta, Ga.; step-sister and brothers, Bethanne Kruse, Dallas, TX, Jennifer Feraldi of Aiken and William A. Leach III of Bonita Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Stewart and his brother Robert Stewart Jr. Jeffrey was a graduate of Stuttgart American High School in Pattonville, Kornwestheim, Germany. He attended Augusta State University and graduated NYU with a B/S degree; a Masters Degree from University of Oklahoma; Army Command and General Staff College and was assigned to the Army Evaluation Center at Alexandria, VA. He was a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm and the Global War On Terrorism. During Major Stewart's time in the Army he was awarded and decorated with the Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal; The Defense Meritorious Service Medal; The Meritorious Service Medal (w/2OLC); The Joint Service Commendation Medal; The Army Commendation Medal (w/1OLC); The Army Achievement Medal (w/1OLC); National Defense Service Medal (w/Star); the Southwest Asia Medal (w/2 Campaign Stars); The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; The Korean Defense Service Medal; The Armed Forces Reserve Medal (w/10 year device); The Army Service Ribbon; The Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award); The Saudi Arabian/Kuwait Liberation Medal; The Kuwait/Kuwaiti Liberation Medal; The Meritorious Unit Citation Medal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Virginia 22038-1132. Services for Major Stewart were held Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial servicewill be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the memorial service for family and friends at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
