AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Rachel McKay Hucks, age 88, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Huntersville, died Monday, February 5, 2007 at University Hospital. Born October 22, 1918 in Huntersville she was a daughter of the late William Rouch McKay and Eulala Ewart McKay. She was retired from Mooresville Federal Savings and Loan and was a graduate of Huntersville High School, Class of 1935. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the F.W. Kiker Sunday School Class, and the Mollie Sherrill Circle. Throughout the years, she was President of the WSCS, Chairperson of the Parsonage Committee, a Children's Sunday School teacher, and was always active in the life and ministry of the church. She was known for regularly sending cards to her friends and the homebound members of her church. She attended Rock Springs Camp Meeting annually and was a member of the Cornelius Cut-Ups Square Dancers. A generous supporter of many charities, she enjoyed reading, working puzzles, flowers, bird watching, and collecting churches and bells. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius with Rev. Mike Bailey and Rev. Chip Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Her six grandchildren will be Pallbearers and members and spouses of the F.W. Kiker Sunday School Class will be Honorary Pallbearers. A beloved wife of fifty years, and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her survivors are: son, Jimmy Hucks and wife Rachel of Newnan, GA, daughter, Pam Hucks Wilson and husband Rev. Chip Wilson of Grovetown, GA, daughter-in-law, Pauline Hucks of Charlotte, grandchildren, Duane Hucks of Newnan, GA, Greg Hucks of Atlanta, GA, Travis Hucks and wife Jenny of Buford, GA, Darrin Hucks of Cornelius and his fiancŽe Heather Farrington of Huntersville, Chris Wilson of Statesboro, GA and Emily Wilson of Athens, GA, great-grandchildren, Grayson Hucks of Newnan, GA, Isaac Michael Hucks of Buford, GA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hucks, son, Mickey Hucks, brothers, Ralph and James Ardric McKay and sister, Lottie M. Sims. Memorials may be made to Mt.
