COLUMBIA, S.C. - A celebration service for William Mahlon "Bill" Clark will be held at First Baptist Church, Boyce Chapel on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private. Mr. Clark passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007. Born on May 2, 1921, in Johnston, S.C., he was the son of the late Walter Hugh Clark, Sr. and Minnie Jordan Clark. He was a 1942 graduate of Clemson University and served in the Air Air Force during WWII. He worked for the GE Co. for 23 years as a sales engineer and was the President of J.W. Vaughan Co. of Columbia for 32 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia where he served as a deacon and Sunday School leader. He was a past President of the Richland Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Mays Clark; sons, Barry W. Clark, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Lexington, Douglas M. Clark and his wife, Kim of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Walter Hugh Clark, Jr. of Johnston; and grandchildren, Megan A. Clark, B. William Clark, Jr., Kristen L. McCrary and Robert E. McCrary IV; a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, John Davis Clark, Sr., predeceased him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 1000, Columbia, S.C. 29202 or the Carolina Children's Home, 3201 Trenholm Rd., Columbia, S.C. 29204. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
