Joan Winslow, the president of Aiken Driving Club, said the club has historical significance.

MEMBERSHIP: The group has 160 members. Only 30 to 35 people actually drive. There are several levels of memberships available.

MISSION: To promote carriage driving in the community and have people understand its history so they will want to preserve the traditions for the future.

QUOTE: "Carriage driving is a very traditional sport. The manners go back to the early 1800s, so when you get in the carriage that is the image you are perpetuating. The socializing is as much fun as the driving." - Joan Winslow, president
