EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Maxine V. Cornelius 82, beloved wife, of Charles M. Cornelius, entered into rest, on Sunday, January 14, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be held, at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 18, 2007, in the Platt's Belair Road Chapel, with Reverend Robert Hunt officiating. Interment will follow, at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA. Mrs. Cornelius was born and raised in Elkhart, IN and was the daughter and only child, of the late F. Evert and Grace J. Williamson. She married her husband, in June of 1945. Due to her husband's job, they lived in numerous areas, including Kinston, NC, Chicago, IL, Santa Anna, CA, Hawaii, Lexington Park, MD, Beaufort, SC, Jacksonville, FL, Virginia Beach, VA, Long Island, NY and Chesapeake, VA, before settling in Evans, GA, in 2001. She had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Starlight Chapter 181, Elkhart, IN, for 62 years and was a member, of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Augusta, GA. She is survived by her husband, of over 61 years, Charles M. Cornelius, of Evans, GA and her son and daughter in law, Evert Dean and Pauline Carol Cornelius, of Martinez, GA. The family will receive friends, on Wednesday January 17, 2007, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Platt's Belair Road.
