South Carolina routs Alabama

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Lauren Simms had 12 points, four assists and three rebounds Sunday to lead South Carolina in a 95-35 rout of Alabama in Southeastern Conference action Sunday.

The Gamecocks (11-7, 1-2 SEC) took the lead from the beginning and never relinquished it. South Carolina led by as much as 62 points with just over a minute left in the game and all 13 players who got in the game scored.

Melanie Johnson and Brionna Dickerson had 10 points each. Dickerson also had five assists and six rebounds.

Alabama (10-9, 0-4) was led by Kate Mastin with eight points. The Crimson Tide made just four shots from the field in the first half - three of those were 3-pointers - to trail 42-14 at the half.

Alabama had 34 turnovers, which led to 38 South Carolina points.
