AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Doctor's Hospital, Mr. Harold W. Burch, beloved husband of Sylvia Carter Burch for fifty years. Mr. Burch was a native of Augusta and had lived here all of his life. He was the son of the late John Harmon Burch and Lenora Whitaker Burch. Mr. Burch retired from International Paper with over 30 years of service. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Mr. Burch was a member of Pine View Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Choir Member. He was a member of the John S. Davidson Masonic Lodge #677, Free and Accepted Masons, 32 degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J. USA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in- law Michael Harold Burch and Elizabeth of Augusta, his daughter and son-in-law, Michele Burch D'Amico and Michael of Martinez, his grandchildren; Joseph Michael Burch, Zachary Whittaker Burch, Jessica Michele D'Amico and John Michael D'Amico, great granddaughter, Aubrie Erin Burch, sister, Katie B. Riner of Augusta and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM, from the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Burch, Jody Talent, Hubert Conrad, Larry Davis, Rusty Minton and James Britt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and Choir Members of Pine View Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Pine View Baptist Church Building Fund, 154 Davis Rd. Augusta, GA 30907. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd. Augusta, GA 30907 (706)364-8484.
