HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Adele Johnson, 92, beloved wife of the late James R. Johnson. Entered into rest Friday, January 5, 2007 in Augusta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Stewart Cartledge III and Richard Wayne Wheeler. Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late James and Emma Wall Snelson. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 11:00AM in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery with Deacon Scott Johnson and assisted by the Rev. Patrick DeVane. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Oglethorpe County Georgia and resided in Harlem for the past 60 years. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters Doris (Joe) Wheeler, Harlem, and Mary (Stewart) Cartledge, Appling, Georgia. One son; Waymon (Lynette) Johnson, Harlem, Georgia. One sister; Viola Ledbetter, Augusta; special friends Walter and Louise Powell and caregiver, Linda Knight; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great -great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Visitation will this evening Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 7 to 9PM at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy. 78, Harlem, Ga.
