Teeing off - John Engler

Engler's storybook comeback from a devastating car crash in 2003 to the PGA Tour in 2006 didn't include a fairy tale ending. He struggled with equipment issues during the bulk of the season, making only two cuts in his first 17 starts and both of them were in tournaments that no longer exist.

But he made five cuts in his last 10 starts.

"Unfortunately it took awhile, but from about August on I started really kind of playing well and getting comfortable," Engler said. "I'll carry all the positives over to this next year. My whole goal was to become a better player than I was the last year and I think I did that even though my results might not show it."

Engler's primary focus will be on reestablishing himself in the pipeline through the Nationwide Tour.
