AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Myrtle Phillips Holton Cooper, 85, of Augusta died Friday, December 29. Mrs. Cooper was born in Treutlen County and had lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a daughter of the late Anthony and Sally Lamb Phillips. She was preceded in death by husbands, William E. Holton, Jr. and David W. Cooper; a sister, Bertchie Holton and a brother, Royal Phillips. She was retired from Civil Service and was a member of Fleming Baptist Church, Augusta. Survivors include her husband, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Kim Holton, Dublin, and Lacey D. and Jan Holton, Augusta; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and L.E. Stewart, Cadwell; 8 grandchildren, Jack, Lonnie, David, Victor and Jason Stewart, Jeremy, Rebecca and Timothy Holton; 2 great-grandchildren, Nolan Stewart and Zoe Holton. Services will be held in Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Treutlen County, at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, December 31, with the Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
