A DOG'S LIFE
GO EASY ON FOOD
If you are like many of us, you will probably want to share some of your Christmas meal with your pet, but too much "people food" can make your dog seriously ill.
The key to avoiding spending Christmas evening at your vet's office with a sick pet is moderation. Recognize that your pet's gastrointestinal system is sensitive - similar to a human infant's - and cannot handle lots of rich, fatty or spicy foods.
Adding a teaspoon of white turkey meat or broth to your pet's food should adequately allow you to share Christmas with your pet. Even more rewarding in your pet's eyes is spending time with him or her, going for a walk, playing fetch, petting or combing the hair coat: simply sharing your time and love.
Experiences such as these deepen the bond between you and your pet without risking its life.

REVIEW: When Connie Burns, a war correspondent, investigates the murders of five women in Sierra Leone, she suspects that a certain British mercenary is taking advantage of the war to conceal his lust for committing personal crimes. Later, while covering the war in Baghdad, Burns again encounters the mercenary. Then she is kidnapped and held prisoner for three days. Once free, Burns decides to escape not only Iraq but also the curiosity of her colleagues, who suspect that she was no ordinary kidnapping victim.
