Vicky Bedell (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Vicky Talbert Bedell, 60, of Sande Hill Place, entered into rest Sunday, December 17, 2006 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Coyle and Mr. John Boswell officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rowland Funeral Home. Mrs. Bedell was a native of Augusta, GA and was the daughter of the late John Nixon Talbert and Louise McDaniel Talbert. Mrs. Bedell was a retired school teacher, having taught at St. Mary's on the Hill, Southside Elementary and Blythe Elementary as well as schools in Hawaii and Oklahoma. She was the recipient of the Richmond County Teacher of the Year Award for the 2001-2002 school year. Mrs. Bedell was a of member Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was the church's pianist. She joined Immanuel at the age of eight and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of nine. She was a former member and past president of the Augusta Junior Women's Club and was the recipient of numerous awards. Survivors include her three children, Donald Roswell McRae, IV and his wife Cheryl Canady McRae of Augusta, John Thomas McRae of Athens, and Tara Michelle McRae of Augusta; one sister, Pamela T. Brantham of Augusta; one niece, Virginia Claire Johnson of Chapel Hill, NC; one nephew, Dabney Keith Brantham of Augusta. The family would like to thank Dr. John Hudson and his staff for their compassionate medical and nursing care. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Pamela T. Brantham, 1121 Kirk Place, Augusta, GA.
