Mary P. Arnold (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Mary P. Arnold, 48, loving Wife of Mr. William (Billy) C. Arnold, III, entered the Gates of Heaven on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Heartland Hospice with family at her side after a hard fought battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Poteet Funeral Homes - South Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. We know she resides with God now, where there is no pain, mourning, tears, or sorrow. We love you and thank God that you are home now. Though we all will miss you, you now have eternal happiness. Mrs. Arnold was a native of Augusta. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and most recently employed by New Life Baptist Church. Mary was a NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith and attended New Life Baptist Church. Mary was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Powell; daughter, Crystal Arnold; and brother, Marion C. Powell. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is her daughter, Melissa A. Faglier and her husband, Michael of Augusta; three brothers, Allen Wayne Powell and his wife, Karen of Grovetown; David C. Powell and his wife, Linda of Hephzibah; and Calvin D. Powell of Augusta; one sister, Margaret E. Corly and her husband, Doye of Hephzibah; one loving grandson, Ryan H. Faglier of Augusta; and several nephews and nieces. Her family would like to thank Dr. Shaler and staff, Dr. Alice David and staff, University Hospital and Staff, University Home Health Care, Nighting Gale Services and staff, Heartland Hospice and staff, and all that helped comfort Mary during this time. Thanks to all. Pallbearers will be Wayne Allen, Steve Teague, Chris Soper, Victor Dukes, Ted Duzenski, Dwayne Arnold, Sr., Bill Long and Bobby Faglier. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews; John Powell, Duane Powell, and Allen Arnold, Jr. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Poteet Funeral Homes - South Chapel.
