Faith digest


The Rev. Buddy Holbrook, the author of The Times Before the Covenants, will hold a book-signing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Barnes & Noble, 1336 Augusta West Parkway.

Tuskegee talk

Alfonzo Jackson will speak about the Tuskegee Airmen at 6 tonight at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1828 Wrightsboro Road. Singer Derrick Monk and poet J. Calvin Alberty will perform. Call (706) 737-6834.

German traditions

German Christmas traditions will be presented in song and story at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 2860 Wells Drive. The German Friendship Singers will perform; sweets including lebkuchen, plaetzchen and pfeffernusse will be served.

Hanukkah event

The lighting of a 7-foot menorah will be part of the Hanukkah observance at 11 a.m. Sunday at Augusta Ice Sports Center, 1249 Augusta West Parkway. Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, began at sundown Friday.

Longest Night

District Attorney Danny Craig and his wife, Crystal, will be the speakers for the Longest Night service, for those dealing with loss, at 5 p.m. Sunday at Trinity- on- the- Hill United Methodist, 1330 Monte Sano Ave.

Prayer breakfast

Dr. Gregory Fuller, Matt Aitken and the Rev. David King Cannon will join Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver in a prayer breakfast at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Trumpet in Zion Fellowship, 725 Laney- Walker Blvd.

Nativity drive

Cliffwood Presbyterian Church, 2525 Lumpkin Road, will present a living Nativity drive- through,

6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Hot chocolate and refreshments will be available.

Acoustic concert

Christian songwriter Brad Davis will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Broad Street Ministry Center, 20 Broad St. Mr. Davis, of Watkinsville, Ga., is in the running for a Momentum Award as Acoustic Artist of the Year. New Life fun

Youths 12 and older can enjoy comedy, dancing, games and singing at 8 p.m. Friday at New Life Worship Center, 3550 Morgan Road in Hephzibah.
