ATLANTA, Ga. - Mrs Gertrude Kitchens Arthur 93, entered into rest, on Thursday, December 14, 2006, at her residence, in Atlanta, Ga. Graveside services and interment will be held, at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 16, 2006, at Westover Memorial Park, with Reverend Peter Letchford officiating. Mrs Arthur was a life member, of the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and a long standing, active member, of the Augusta Genealogical Society. She taught, in the public school system, for many years and in parochial kindergartens there after, until her retirement. She was a native, of Augusta, having moved to Atlanta, a few years ago, to be near her son. She was preceded in death by her husband, Geddings G. Arthur, Sr., in 1995 and two daughters, Cecelia Arthur, in 1964 and Mary Elizabeth Freeman, in 1988. She is survived by her son, Geddings Arthur, Jr., Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren, Valerie Freeman, Rebecca Freeman, A. J. Freeman, all of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Freeman, Aneka, Iowa, son in law, Thompson Freeman, Charlotte, NC and numerous nephews.
