Marion Hammett (EVANS, Ga.)



EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Marion Hammett, age 78, husband of Mrs. Frances M. Hammett, entered into rest at Doctors Hospital on Sunday November 26, 2006. Graveside services will be held today, Wednesday November 29, 2006, at Westover Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Spencer officiating. Additional survivors include one daughter, Francene H. Taylor and her husband Trace of Atlanta, Ga. and one sister, Betty Sue English of Warrenton, Ga. and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hammett retired from Ga. Power in 1989, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd Degree, the Fleming Lodge # 718, and the Georgia Power Ambassadors, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans. Marion loved to hunt, fish, golf and watch Nascar racing. He loved boating and attending the local boat races in Augusta. He will be missed by his wife family and friends.
