William A. Hundley (BLYTHE, Ga.)



BLYTHE, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at University Hospital, Mr. William A. "Bill" Hundley, Jr., 76, husband of Barbara Y. Hundley. Mr. Hundley was a native of Augusta and spent most of his life in the Augusta area. He was a 1950 graduate of the Academy of Richmond Co. and attended the Junior College of Augusta and the University of Georgia. He was a US Army Veteran, and was a member of the American Legion Post 150 where he served for a number of years as Adjutant General. He was active with the Boy Scouts in North Augusta, S.C., was President of Hammond Hills PTA in 1964 and served as official football photographer for the North Augusta High School. Mr. Hundley was retired from E.I. Dupont after 34 years of service. Prior to his service with E.I. Dupont, Mr. Hundley was employed as a photographer with Robert Wilkerson Studios and was a Department Manager with the old Silvers Dept. Store on Broad St. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and was respected for his work ethic and his devotion to God and family. He loved fishing Clark Hill with his brother-in-law: George Barnes; teaching his children and grandchildren about the great outdoors and spotting deer at Hilton Head Island where he enjoyed relaxing with his wife of 55 years. He was a member of Bath Presbyterian Church in Blythe, Ga. where he served as a Sunday School teacher and Elder. Family members in addition to his wife include son, William A. "Drew" Hundley III of Augusta; daughter, Angela Hundley Parks of Blythe; grandchildren, Anthony Harper Parks of Blythe, William Brian Parks of Augusta; and sisters, Callie Hundley Mobley of Augusta and Christine Hundley Phillips of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Bath Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Geiselman and Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Plagenhoef, Wyatt Windham, Andy Mobley, Chip Mobley, Lee Phillips and Vaughn Phillips. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
