Theron A. Nelson (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Theron A. "Buddy" Nelson, age 85, of Augusta, entered into rest on Thursday morning, November 16, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Augusta, he had retired in August of 1977 from the United States Postal Service after 20 years, as a Postal Clerk. Mr. Nelson was a WW II, U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the 214th Battalion. His family will remember his love and devotion for each of them and his countless hours of working in his yard and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma Lewis Nelson; their daughters, Elaine Schlein (James), Hephzibah, Ga., Ellen Kimberly (Jimmy), Milledgeville, Ga., and Ann Clark (Frontis), Fayetteville, Ga.; 7 grandchildren, Joy Kiesling (Andy), Jamey Schlein (Vicki), Jerry Schlein, Melinda Martin (Dwayne), Richard Kimberly (Penny), Travis Kimberly (Cathy), and Tiffany Clark; 1 brother in law, 3 sister in laws, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 18, 2006 from the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair Street with Reverend Jim McDaniel and Reverend Baxter Stanley, officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nile Peacher, Dan Anderson, Bill Fowler, Hardin Kimberly, Bobby Phillips and Gary James.
