Sarah Cross (MIDVILLE, Ga.)



MIDVILLE, Ga. - Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Sarah Drake Cross age 89, most recently a resident of Summer Willow Assisted Living Community in Nunez and a life long resident of Midville, Friday November 10 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Monday November 13 at Union Grove United Methodist Church near Midville at 11 AM, with Rev. Tony Smith and Rev. Butch Taylor officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church Cemetery Pallbearers are Johnny Hurst, Joey Burch, Chesley Flanders, Kyle Hamilton, Greg Cross, John Cross, Butch Frye, and Chris Karrh. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Sunday from 4-6 PM. Mrs. Cross was native of Emanuel County and a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and she was loved for her cooking, reading, and her talking about politics. She was precededin death by her parents Mose Allen and Bell Walea Drake, and her sister Tommie Cross. Survivors include: her husband Isaac Earl Cross of Midville; two sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry and Sheila Cross of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Ronnie and Dot Cross of Fort Worth Texas; one Brother: M.A. Drake of Midville; three grandchildren: Greg Cross of Richmond Va., Sarah and Kyle Hamilton of Fort Worth TX. John and Debra Cross of Fort Worth TX; one great-grandchild: Braden Hamilton of Fort Worth TX; one very special nephew: Carson and Frances Cross of Midville and their Little Carson and Chandler Cross.
