Two people killed in collision



ALAPAHA, Ga. - Two people were killed and four others injured Saturday when a tractor-trailer struck a mule-drawn carriage that was returning from the town's yearly celebration.

The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 82 just outside Alapaha, a small town in Berrien County about 15 miles southeast of Tifton.

The carriage was leaving the city's annual Alapaha Station Celebration.

Franklin Aubrey Joyce and Andrew Joyce were killed in the wreck, Berrien County Sheriff Jerry Brogdon said.

Abigail Joyce, 2; John Joyce, 75; Kimberly Joyce; and Linda Harnage were taken to Tift Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Their conditions were unknown.
