SPLOST project list

Here is a complete list of the projects to be funded by the 1-cent special purpose local option sales tax, and their costs:

- New south Augusta middle school for 750 pupils: $21.4 million

- Vocational magnet school for 750 pupils: $25.2 million

- Langford Middle gym renovations: $910,000

- Warren Road Elementary lunchroom: $425,000

- New John Milledge Elementary for 500 pupils: $13 million

- Conversion of Dorothy Hains Elementary School into a traditional elementary magnet school for 400 pupils: $10.8 million

- Expand Freedom Park Elementary to accommodate grades 6-8: $6.5 million

- Garrett Elementary School/National Hills Elementary School renovation projects: $15.3 million

- East Augusta Middle School renovations: $6 million

- Tubman Middle School renovation: $10.2 million

- Six new International Baccalaureate classrooms at Academy of Richmond County: $3.2 million

- New facade and administrative area for Westside and Butler high schools: $6.25 million

- New Hephzibah High School football stadium/athletic complex: $10.6 million

- Air condition current buses: $1.2 million

- Panic buttons: $300,000

- Purchase buses/maintenance vehicles: $5 million

- Textbooks and software for the school system and all schools: $8.5 million

- Technology hardware for the school system and all schools: $6 million

- New Butler High School gymnasium: $7.1 million

- New Lucy C. Laney High School gymnasium: $7.1 million

- New gymnasium for A.R. Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet High School/convert the existing gym into an auditorium: $7.7 million

- New tracks for Academy of Richmond County, Butler High and T.W. Josey High: $2.25 million

- Gym renovation/HVAC systems for Academy of Richmond County, Hephzibah High and Westside High: $6.3 million

- New field house for Josey High School stadium: $1.25 million

- Modifications/Replacement of HVAC systems at Morgan Road Middle and Jamestown Elementary: $2 million

- Purchase vacant lot/building at Ninth and Ellis streets to provide additional parking for central office staff and visitors: $1 million

- Program contingency: $7.5 million

Program subtotal: $192,985,000

- State capital outlay reimbursement for the new south Augusta middle school: $4.5 million

Program total: $188,485,000

If money is available:

- New K-5 fine arts magnet school on the site of the old John S. Davidson Fine Arts School for 400 pupils: $11.5 million

- New elementary school for 650 pupils: $16.5 million

- New auditoriums for Glenn Hills and Hephzibah high schools; conversion of gyms into auditoriums for Butler, Josey and Laney high schools; and expansion and renovation of existing Westside High auditorium: $15 million

Program total with contingency projects: $231,485,000
