Sugako 'Sue' O'Leary (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. "Sue" Sugako Fujii O'Leary entered into rest on November 2nd 2006. She was born on January 1st 1919 in Fu-Ku-O-Ka, Japan to Mr. and Mrs. Sin-Jiro and Katsu Kuro Fujii. She married Mr. Paul B. O'Leary in postwar Japan then moved to America where she eventually came to reside in Augusta, GA for the past 45 years until her death. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club and Japanese Club. She volunteered with the Red Cross, Senior Center and Flower Ministry at Eisenhower Hospital. Survivors include her son ;Ken- Paul Lapaquette and his wife Cheryl, her daughters; Teru K and her husband Joe Lapaquette, Gigi Lapaquette Miller and her husband Charles; grandchildren; Desiree Miller McCullough and her husband Keith, Tyler Clay Miller, Raven Tori Miller, Zachary Paul Lapaquette and Ethan Tyler Lapaquette and a sister Yasuko Okada and a niece ; Sakai Sigeki Yuko. She was preceded in death by her husband; Paul B. O'Leary and her brother; Motomi Fujii. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Fr. Michael Lubinsky officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
