Isn't it wonderful how WRDW-TV (Channel 12) attempted to boost their ratings by airing a story on actor Jeffrey D. Jones' status as a sex offender? 12 On Your Side decided they had to warn the community that a sex offender was in the area, and how the neighbors should have been notified beforehand.
I am a father of a 2-year-old, and, yes, sex offenders are problems in society. But I thought it was in bad taste that members of the local media once again have to resort to digging up issues that should be a moot point. If I were one of the actors or crew members with the film, I would take this personally, that the people of our community don't want me around.
The bottom line: Celebrities have their issues and problems like the rest of us, and you don't need to dig so deep to find something negative to report. I don't want to hear anyone complain about the economic losses suffered when a production company skips us over because we don't want them here.
