AUGUSTA, Ga. - Richard Allen Powers, 62, of Augusta entered into rest Thursday, October 19, 2006. Mr. Powers was born in Griffin, GA, a son of Mattie Mae Butler Powers of Augusta and the late Earnest Clifton Powers, he had lived in Augusta for the past 20 years. He was a member of the First church of the Nazarene of Augusta. Surviving, in addition to his mother, is a son, Spencer C. Powers of Savannah; two daughters, Linda Martin and Debbie Fail, both of Barnwell, SC; a brother, Doug Powers of Augusta, GA; four sisters, Hazel Ansley of Waynesboro, GA, Amelia Powers of Rincon, GA, Shirley Corder, of Augusta, and Faye Day of Rincon; five grandchildren, George Nathan Powers, Ramey Gibbs, Josh and Summer Padget, and Chasity O'Grady; five great-grandchildren; five nieces, 10 nephews, 11 great-nieces and 14 great-nephews. A funeral was held at 2:00PM Monday, October 23, 2006 at Poteet Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
