Josey's Daggett scores four touchdowns in rout

PLAY OF THE GAME: Josey senior quarterback Danny Daggett ran right, then scrambled back to his left and threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to receiver Carl Simms with 5:13 remaining in the second quarter.

WHY JOSEY WON: The Eagles had Daggett and Southeast Bulloch didn't. Daggett lined up at running back and under center for Josey and was responsible for four of the five Eagles touchdowns. He combined for 237 yards rushing and passing as the Eagles (3-3, 2-1 Region 3-AA) ran for nearly 300 yards. He threw two perfect strikes to wide-open wide receivers who got behind the visitors' secondary.

WHY SOUTHEAST BULLOCH LOST: The Yellow Jackets (1-5, 0-3) mustered only 134 yards of total offense and had two turnovers. SE Bulloch rushed 35 times for 96 yards, an average of 2.7 yards per rush. The Jackets also didn't defend the pass very well. Michael Gibson's 18-yard touchdown reception off a strike from Daggett just 11 seconds before halftime was particularly damaging to the visitors.

STAR OF THE GAME: Josey senior quarterback Daggett. He passed for 123 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 114 yards and two scores.

QUOTABLE: "We were able to move Danny around on offense and put him in some real positive situations where he could make something happen. Any win is a good win, especially when it's a region win." - Josey coach Barney Chavous
