LAST WEEK: Bradley ran the ball 15 times for 91 yards in a 27-21 overtime victory at Chapin. Bradley scored on runs of 1, 1 and 5 yards. All of those touchdowns came at key moments. He scored the lone first-half touchdown for the Mustangs, who trailed by 14 points late in the third quarter. After Midland Valley pulled within seven, Bradley helped tie the contest with five minutes remaining. In overtime, he gave the Mustangs the win with his 5-yard scamper - the team's second win in two weeks on the final play of the game. His three touchdowns pushed his season total to 11.

During his work hours he built decks, fences, remodeled rooms, painted, helped to build houses. During the growing season, he grew vegetables in his garden and flowers in his front year. He was one of those always busy people. Duane was a friend to many, a familiar sight at Wal-Mart or Ace Hardware, which is Isaiah's favorite store. He taught his grandson all about tools. If Duane had a tool, Isaiah had to have one too, miniature, of course. Isaiah and his papa were great buddies, and they loved each other dearly. LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mr. D. Byron Burt, 60, of 106 Chinaberry Lane, Louisville, Ga., died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Jefferson Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Athens, Ga. moved to Louisville, Ga. in 1969, Mr. Burt was a self-employed aerial applicator. He was a member and an elder of the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He served on the Louisville City Council from 1991-2001, then in 2002 was elected Mayor of Louisville and was serving until his death. He owned and operated Burt's Aircraft Service for 30 years. He was a mason. Mr. Burt was also a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Connie Pritchett Burt of Louisville; one son, Major Joel E. Burt and wife Vicky of Troy, Illinois; one daughter, Bonnie B. EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest October 10, 2006 at the residence. Mr. Duane Glisson, 49, husband of Teresa Glisson for 26 years. He served with honor in the U.S. Marine Corp for 13 years. He was stationed in the Philippines and Korea. He always remained one of "The Few, The Proud." Duane was a grower and builder. During his work hours he built decks, fences, remodeled rooms, painted, helped to build houses. During the growing season, he grew vegetables in his garden and flowers in his front yard. He was one of those always busy people. Duane was a friend to many, a familiar sight at Wal-Mart or Ace Hardware, which is Isaiah's favorite store. He taught his grandson all about tools. If Duane had a tool, Isaiah had to have one too, miniature, of course. Isaiah and his papa were great buddies, and they loved each other dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene A. Glisson. AUGUSTA, Ga. - Del-Nard "Del" Derby, 87, entered into rest Monday, October 9, 2006 at Kentwood Nursing Home. Del believed in the power of prayer, served the Lord with gladness all the days of her life, and brought the joy of the Lord to countless others. She was married for 50 years to the late Major (ret) Richard "Dick" George Derby, who preceded her in death in 1993. Del is survived by her only child, Richard "Rick" Stephen Derby of Atlanta, GA and two dearly loved pet "grand" dogs, Zac and Dexter. A native of Charlotte, NC, as a military wife Del resided in several locations, to include Taipei, Taiwan, before the family settled in Augusta in 1962. She was a much loved kindergarten teacher for 23 years in the preschool programs of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church and then at Covenant Presbyterian Church. She also loved and nurtured many other young children serving as a live-in weekend nanny for those children while their parents traveled. She and her family joined Trinity-on-the-Hill UMC in 1962 and over the last 40 years she has been very active in many church programs and groups, to include being a very devoted member and past president of the Damren Sunday School Class, and serving as one of the first volunteer receptionists at the church office beginning in the mid 1980's and continuing until very recently. Additionally, Del was one of the first presidents and organizers for Augusta's annual Children's Week celebration, served as PTA president at Copeland Elementary School, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tanglewood Garden Club, and GA-LINA Emmaus Community, Bagelettes Reunion Group. Del was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Pearl Parker and Grover Welsh Foard, Sr. of Charlotte, NC; brother: Grover Welsh Foard, Jr. and sisters: Donna Gray Foard Faggart and Joanne Parker Foard Jordan. Her surviving extended family includes one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one niece; and four nephews and their families, all residing in North Carolina.
